Hoad is a Sussex-born artist who had a distinguished career in the RAF and retired with the rank of Air Vice Marshall in 1978. He is a founder member of the Society of Equestrian Artists and the Guild of Aviation Artists. His works can be seen at the RAF Museum, Hendon and in many public and private collections.
