Frank Moss Bennett was born in Liverpool and studied at the St Johns Wood Art School, the Slade School and at the Royal Academy Schools, where he won a gold medal and a travel scholarship. He specialised in genre and historical subjects and exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Paris Salon.
