Albert Moulton Foweraker was born in Exeter and was educated at Cambridge University. He became a member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1902 and exhibited over 50 watercolours there. He seems to have been fascinated by the effects of certain light on buildings and landscapes. His most desired scenes are those of Devon or Cornwall with either a person carrying a lamp or those with a light shining from a building.
