John Strevens became famous during the war years for a series of posters he had designed and printed. In 1952 he received a
gold medal at the Paris Salon, and later he exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters.
A blue Heritage Plaque can now be seen outside his home in Loughton, Essex.
His full name was John Frederick Lloyd Strevens
