Doris Zinkeisen won a scholarship to the Royal Academy Schools in 1917 together with her sister Anna. They shared a studio in London during the 1920s and ’30s, where they became renowned artists. Doris Zinkeisen was a popular portraitist and society painter, whose subjects, including equestrian portraiture and scenes of the parks of London and Paris reflect the lifestyle of the upper class at the time.
